Carson is definately developing his own personality now. He such a happy baby and always smiling. He loves to roll around on the ground and play with mommy and daddy. He also met the last of the family this weekend. Chuck and Lynda and the kids came home for Grandma's 80th birthday. Now all he has to do is learn all their names......a task nearly impossible for anyone, let alone a child!

Family Photos
These are some of my most favorite family pictures. First of all, we are avid Virginia Tech fans. It all started with Howie back in college when they used to play on Thursday nights and he would watch them while celebrating "Thirsty Thursday"! Then he got me hooked on them, and of course we made Carson in to a VA Tech fan. My mom got Carson his first VA Tech outfit for Christmas, so when they played on a bowl game this year father and son dressed alike. So cute!
This was the picture we took for our Christmas card. We were a little short on cash to get one professionally taken, but my mom took one and it turned out just as good.
ILL-INI! True Illini fans. Even though they got stomped during the Rose Bowl, we still cheered them on.
This picture was taken on New Year's, right at midnight. It's not the best of Carson, but it is pretty good of Howie and I. I think it shows Carson's true attitude towards the night....."What am I doing up so late?!?"

My Favorites
These are some of my favorite pictures. To start off, as you can see on February 1 we had a major winter storm. Luckily the next day was sunny and semi-warm, so I told Howie to pack Carson up in his warm winter snowsuit (thanks to Uncle Bob for that!) and we are going to take his picture outside in the snow. Howie, looking at me like I was crazy (I get that look quite often these days!) so lovingly obliged and we took him outside in the snow. I swept off the front step and sat him down in it. This is the result. Very cute and very worth it. The only downfall...it was a little windy and he kept blinking his eyes like, "Mom, get me out of this cold weather!"
So this is our newest adventure....cereal. This was taken on his first attempt and he has since gotten much better. We have also added some applesauce to the mixture and he loves that. I hope giving him sweets first won't ruin his taste for the veggies later. They say you are supposed to give veggies first but he was grumpy one night so I decided to give him some applesauce to cheer him up! By the way, Howie HATES it when I say "they say..." I have all my books out reading what I am supposed to do and Howie is constantly saying, "Who the **** are THEY and who gave them the right to tell us how to raise our child?!?" Now I just do it to get a rise out of Howie.....I am figuring out through trial and error what really works and what doesn't!
Ahh, alas, Carson is rolling over. He can only roll one way, to the left, so I sit at one end of the room and Howie sits at another and when he gets us, we turn him around the other way and he starts all over again. He really wants to crawl, but is not quite strong enough for that yet. Also, he is a few short weeks away from sitting up on his own. He can do it for a few seconds, then he just looks like a drunk and falls forward or to one side. We are working on it though! He is growing so fast!
Well, we survived all of the holidays, capped off with New Year's Eve. This picture was taken at 1:00 am. Howie and I decided to stay at my parents house since we knew it might be a night of drinking and we didn't want to drive and, needless to say, my mom took charge. We tried to keep him in his nightly routine and put him in bed by about 10, but there was too much going on and Carson wanted to stay up for the new year. So, after midnight my mom decided to strip off all his clothes, put him on the floor in the living room, and cover him with confetti....the new year's baby. A cute picture capping off a long night. Of course he was just exhausted and slept all night for my mom, who offered to take care of him that night. Ahhh...such is life.
Get with the program
Well....since all of my friends and family enjoy getting pictures of Carson so much, and since some of my friends are OBSESSED with Katie's blog, I thought I would get with the program and create one of my own. I guess now I can quit filling email inboxes with the hundreds of new pictures that I send of Carson all the time. Also, I can keep everyone updated on a weekly (or daily or monthly...depending on how hectic my life is) basis. Hope you all enjoy!
